CDL Refresher Course

The SPCDL CDL Refresher Course is private, one-on-one, behind-the-wheel training for drivers who already have commercial experience and want to rebuild specific skills or get ready for a drive test for a new employer. Training is $175 per hour with a certified instructor, with a 4-hour minimum, and it is built entirely around what you personally need to work on.

Maybe you earned your CDL years ago and have not driven a big rig in a while. Maybe you took your skills test, came up short on one or two maneuvers and want focused practice before you go back. Maybe you drive every day, but a new job, a new trailer or a tougher route has you wanting to sharpen up. Whatever brings you here, the goal is the same: you walk away confident, safe, and ready. No two drivers arrive with the same gaps, so no two refresher plans look the same.

At SPCDL Truck Driving School, you will never share a truck or a trainer with another student. Every hour you pay for is yours. You are not waiting in line, watching someone else drive, or splitting a session four ways. Your certified instructor spends the entire time coaching you, and that is exactly why our refresher students make fast progress.

Who the CDL Refresher Course Is For

Drivers come to us for a refresher at very different points in their careers. You will fit right in if any of these sound like you:

What the CDL Refresher Course Covers

You and your instructor talk about what you need and what you want to work on. Your instructor watches you drive and inspect, identifies what needs attention, and then spends your hours on those areas. The course is fully tailored, and it covers every critical competency area that makes professional drivers safe.

Pre-Trip Inspection

We make sure you can thoroughly assess your vehicle before every trip. Many drivers know how to inspect a truck but lose focus on the most common areas that cause issues on the road. We fix that.

Brake Testing

Slow-Speed Maneuvers

This is where most skills tests are won or lost. We work on straight line forward and backing, offset driving to the left and right, parallel parking, and alley docking. We train on trucks that are easier to maneuver, which lowers stress and raises your odds of getting it right on the first attempt.

Road Training

You will get real world driving experience across city, urban, and mountain environments, so you are comfortable with traffic, grades, turns, and the kind of conditions Southern California throws at you. Our instructors bring more than 30 years of experience and use proven, advanced commercial driving techniques to help you operate safely and confidently.
